Muzaffar Nagar


Muzaffarnagar is a city and a municipal board in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the headquarters of the Muzaffarnagar district. Situated midway on Delhi-Roorkee-Dehradun National Highway NH-58, the city is also well connected with the national railway network.

Muzaffarnagar is located at 29°28’N 77°41’E? / ?29.47°N 77.68°E? / 29.47; 77.68. The city’s total area in 1901 amounted to 1,963,662 acres (7,946.66 km2), or 1,662 square miles (4,300 km2) and in 2000 to 4049 square km. It is well connected by road and railway networks; the National Highway-58 passes through Muzaffarnagar city

Economy Of Muzaffar Nagar
Muzaffarnagar is an important industrial town with sugar, steel and paper being the major products. It has 13 sugar mills and ‘Khatauli Mill’ is the largest in Asia. The Muzaffarnagar market of Jaggery (heat-dried sugar-cane juice, called ‘Gud’ in local language) is the largest in Asia.

More than 70% of the region’s population is engaged in agriculture. According to Economic Research firm Indicus Analytics, Muzaffarnagar has the highest agricultural GDP in Uttar Pradesh.

Education Of Muzaffar Nagar
There are a number of good schools and colleges in the city. Schools are mostly associated with CBSE and UP Board. A few well-known schools of the city are SD Public School, Holy Angels Convent School,Shardein school, Bhagwanti Saraswati Vidya Mandir, MG Public School, GC Public School, S.D Inter College,Gyan Deep Public School, D.A.V Inter College etc.

The city also has a lot to offer in terms of higher education. It is home to a major medical college and also privately funded colleges like S.D. College of Engineering & Technology, S.D. College of Management Studies, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Deen Dayal Group of Colleges, The Skylark College of Technical Education & Management, and CMIS (College of Management and Sciences). The state-sponsored colleges like S.D Degree College, D.A.V Degree College, Choudhary Chotu Ram post graduate College, Jain Degree College also add to this list. Most of the colleges are associated to CCS university and UP-Technical university.

There is a good track record of city-students scoring places in world renowned institutions of higher education.
